Your job

The key objective of the role is to develop and maintain the UK institutional investor client base across the range of Kempen investment strategies. This will include the maintenance of existing and the securing of new investment consultant research ratings, developing direct institutional investor prospecting and the promotion of the Kempen brand and capabilities across relevant investor networks.

The Director, Client Management Institutions of KCM is responsible for developing investment consultant relationships, generating institutional investor leads and converting them into clients by working in accordance with the sales process. In addition, the role is responsible for contributing actively to the development and maintenance of that sales process  in relation to all marketing and sales activities in the UK in order to achieve the commercial goal in terms of clients, assets under management and revenues. Specifically, the Director is responsible for:

  • Leading the commercial development of the Kempen investment business in the UK
  • Identification, development, proper recording (via CRM system) and qualification of institutional prospects by managing direct investor and investment consultant relationships, while predominantly UK focused, there is scope for international development in addition 
  • Developing and maintaining constructive working relationship with the Kempen portfolio management teams in the Netherlands
  • Converting qualified prospects into clients by leading the sales process, interacting and assisting colleagues as necessary
  • Contributing to the maintenance of effective investor collateral
  • Contributing to the maintenance of an information source to assist ITT/RFP completion
  • Assistance with the smooth transition of new clients and their assets to Account Management
  • Contributing to the development and management of the brand of Kempen and increasing Kempen’s brand recognition among UK institutional investors
  • Complying with all Kempen Investment Management policies and procedures

Your experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
  • IMC or similar investment management qualification
  • At least 5 years of experience and success in a business development role within the UK pensions industry 
  • Strong sales skills and a proven track record of results
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • A strong sense of responsibility and high standards of personal integrity
  • Cultural sensitivity and an interest and ability to work in an international organisation
